The Sportnex CR-S from Nankang is a high-performance summer tyre, ideal for racing enthusiasts and motorsport fans seeking exceptional traction and handling on dry surfaces. Designed to deliver optimal performance in warm, dry, and wet conditions, this tyre is not intended for use in freezing temperatures, snow, or ice.
Performance-focused, the Sportnex CR-S features a new tread compound that quickly reaches its optimal operating temperature. Its asymmetric tread pattern is designed for speed, with wide outer shoulders that maximise lateral grip. An intermediate circumferential groove helps dissipate heat during aggressive driving and works with the inner grooves to channel water, reducing the risk of aquaplaning.
The internal structure includes a two-ply polyester casing to enhance handling and stability. Two wide steel belts support the tread, reinforced by an aramid cap ply to optimise handling and high-speed performance. The sidewall compound is designed to manage heat and enhance rigidity, providing a responsive drive.
All current and future Sportnex CR-S tyres incorporate Nankang's enhanced V2 compound. It is crucial to note that tyres exposed to temperatures below 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) should be gradually warmed to at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for 24 hours before any handling, such as pressure adjustment, mounting, or driving.
Using these tyres in cold conditions can cause irreversible cracking in the compound, which is not covered by the warranty, as it results from improper use or storage. Tyres with such damage should be replaced.
