Michelin has been the preferred partner of Harley-Davidson, and the tyres equipping the motorcycles from the Wisconsin capital's brand bear the logo of both companies on their sidewall! This partnership has allowed Michelin to gain a precise understanding of the specific uses of this type of motorcycles, whose central criteria are durability, progressive behaviour, and wet grip. This is the first time Michelin has split its offer into two: the new Commander III being different depending on whether it is intended for Cruisers or Touring vehicles.
Both new types of Michelin Commander feature a 100% silica rubber compound that enhances grip, especially on wet surfaces. Durability has improved compared to the Commander II. Most sizes benefit from a "velvet touch", which adds a "premium" aspect corresponding to the style of equipped machines. Not to mention that the Commander III is equipped with additional sipes (3% more sipe area than the Commander II). The new Michelin Commander III tyres are available in a wide range of sizes from 16 to 21 inches for the front tyre, and from 15 to 17 inches for the rear tyre.
